Loco Bloco Awarded Playmaker Grant by 50 Fund

50 Fund is the signature philanthropic initiative of Super Bowl 50. Its goal is to help close the opportunity gap that exists for Bay Area children, youth and young adults living in low-income communities. In addition to the generous grant to support the production of our Sonido Del Barrio showcase this December, our YA/Performer/Class Assistant Sabrina Y. was drafted by the Levi’s® brand as Rookie Playmaker for her contribution to Loco Bloco and her stewardship of her community. While Sabrina’s personal achievements are impressive, it is her commitment and dedication to her community that makes her a Playmaker. When Sabrina learns a new skill she immediately transitions from a student to teacher and is constantly looking out for a person to pass along the lesson to. The vigor Sabrina brings to her performance, teaching and peer-leadership in Loco Bloco is true embodiment of our mission and work. Read more about this incredible acknowledgement and check out the video produced by BAYCAT showcasing both Loco Bloco and Sabrina.
